Its primary function is to provide security and peace of mind and can take the worry out of leaving the house on your own.

  • The SOS button can be pressed to contact our alarm response centre and get you the help you need. The device acts as a two way communication, our alarm response centre can speak to you directly through the device.
  • The falls detector alerts us if you fall and we can speak to you to check you are ok or if you need help.
  • Ideal for those who want independence but are: at risk of falls, the elderly, dementia patients, people with epilepsy and those with learning disabilities.

Please note - information for people with pacemakers:
The manufacturer has advised that customers with a pacemaker should not wear the device around their neck due to the unit containing a SIM card. The advice is that you must maintain at least a 6-inch distance between any device that uses a SIM card and your pacemaker.

Whilst the risk identified is minimal, it is recommended that people with a pacemaker keep any electronic devices that may create magnetic interference, including mobile phones and smart-watches, at least six inches away from their implanted medical device.

If you are worried about falling, are at risk of falling due to having limited mobility or after a diagnosis of a health condition or disability, or have started falling unexpectedly or more often at home, Progress Lifeline’s falls package can provide peace of mind and assistance to you when, or if, you fall.

The falls reassurance package includes the Lifeline base unit, a red button personal pendant or wrist alarm, 24 hour a day/365 days a year remote monitoring and the  falls detector.

You can also choose to include the emergency home response with assistive lifting service as part of your falls reassurance package from Progress Lifeline for an additional £15.48 per month. 


The Falls detector automatically* detects your fall and without the need to press the button, sends an alert to the Progress Lifeline alarm response centre. An operator will receive the alert, speak with you via the Lifeline equipment and arrange for help to come to your home after you fall. You can also manually press the pendant/watch to contact the alarm response centre if you fall or need help.

In comparison the basic lifeline package does not automatically sense that you have fallen. You are required to press the button to contact the alarm response centre for help after a fall.

*Please note that not all falls may be detected by the equipment, such as when a fall is broken by a chair or similar. Where possible, after a fall, you should always additionally press the help button. More information about falls detection is available from the Progress Lifeline customer service team on 03333 204 999 and from our team of Progress Lifeline installers.


The falls telecare equipment from Progress Lifeline does not prevent you falling. It does however, immediately alert us if you have fallen, so that we can get help to you as quickly as possible after you fall, and prevent potential further injury to you caused by long waits for help.

Depending on whether or not you have been injured by your fall, our alarm response centre may send your family and friend emergency contacts or an ambulance to your property to assist you. If you have chosen to include the emergency home response with assistive lifting service as part of your falls reassurance package from Progress Lifeline, we will send out a responder.  

Additionally, we offer a referral to the NHS falls referral service, who may arrange for adaptations and equipment in your home which can help prevent future falls.

The automatic falls detector and/or one-press button personal pendant or wrist alarm removes the need for you to move to get to your phone to ring for help after you fall, potentially causing further injury. The falls detector provides peace of mind to you and your family that help will be sent immediately should you fall.


Yes, the falls detector, provided as part of the falls reassurance package, will detect falls up to 50m (164 feet) and newer models up to 300m from the Lifeline base unit (normally connected to your telephone socket) in your home.

For most average-sized properties, this means that the equipment will work in any room of your house, on your drive and in your garden.

If you do have a larger property, our installation team will test the range of the falls detector and personal pendant or wrist alarm at your property and advise you of the perimeters.

Our Progress Lifeline falls package cost just £24.78 per month (with a £40 set up fee).

Optional upgrades

For an additional cost, you can enhance your lifeline personal alarm package with:

  • Emergency Home Response: You can add our emergency response and lifting service for an extra £15.48 per month
  • Go anywhere options: We have products that work inside and outside of the home from just £23.99 - for example when you are out shopping or walking 

Are you eligible for help with the cost?

VAT relief - the service may be available at a reduced cost for those people in receipt of certain benefits and the majority of our customers do not pay VAT on the service. Please contact us for further information.
