Kenneth's story
Progress Lifeline helps Kenneth care for his wife and allows him independence
The Situation
Kenneth lives at home with his wife Janet. Janet has long-term health conditions and has carers who take her out recreationally, to appointments and more recently, clean the house. Kenneth used to take on these tasks but with his own health conditions, now struggles to do as much as he used to.
Kenneth has some mobility issues where his legs sometimes give way. Kenneth fell whilst out and, although he managed to get himself up and home, he was in some pain so pressed his pendant.
The Outcome
Following Kenneth’s button activation, the Progress Lifeline operators arranged for an ambulance to take him to hospital due to his injury and pain.
Our team provided an essential ‘out of hours’ service for Kenneth when he was in distress - it was a Sunday and he could not ring his GP.
He has the Progress Lifeline service so that he can get help if he falls, but also so that Janet has support and help on hand if he is not at home.
The home safety sensors as well as the Lifeline alarm gives Kenneth peace of mind. He knows if something happens to him, they are in place for his wife Janet, along with her care package.
“The Progress Lifeline staff are polite and it always feels as though they want to help you.”
