Carol's story
Progress Lifeline gives Carol the confidence to live independently and safely at home
The Situation
Carol lives alone and has been prone to falling for a number of years. She is scared of crossing roads so doesn’t venture out much alone. Her neighbours and members of the local community collect her for appointments and take her food shopping. Carol also has carers who attend each day to help her shower and dress.
Carol was sat in her chair and slipped out onto the floor whilst trying to stand. She was going to try and get herself up but pressed pendant instead knowing she might hurt herself in trying.
The Outcome
Our emergency responder attended very quickly and within half an hour of pressing the button we had; attended her home, helped her up with our specialist lifting chair and left her feeling safe and reassured.
Carol has had the Progress Lifeline service for a number of years - she also has the Emergency Home Response service which she values and enables her to happily stay in her own home.
Along with neighbours, friends and the local community, Progress Lifeline helps Carol feel safe and cared for any time day or night. Even though she has a lot of people to help if she needs it, the Lifeline is available 24/7 so there is always someone on hand if she falls, especially during the night - it is easy to use and Carol loves speaking to our friendly operators.
“I feel safe in my home, I appreciate the whole Progress Lifeline team. The staff are lovely and friendly, they can’t do enough for you.”
